Mercy Corps Egypt, in cooperation with Endeavor Insight, has completed a comprehensive survey of the Cairo tech sector. By gathering data from the founders of hundreds of local tech firms, we mapped the complex, interwoven network of connections that continues to grow between Cairo’s many innovative entrepreneurs.
We asked founders a number of questions—who mentored you? Who inspired you? Who did you invest in?—in order to draw out the details of this web of connections. We analyzed this data and arrived at some really interesting results. Endeavor Insight
Endeavor Insight is the research arm of Endeavor that seeks to deepen understanding of how high-impact entrepreneurs contribute to job creation and long-term economic growth in order to educate key constituencies, such as policy makers. In addition, Endeavor Insight seeks to serve as a knowledge center for high-impact entrepreneurs, VCs and others in order to provide useful information and tools that assist high-impact entrepreneurs as they grow their business.

MC Egypt, a for-profit subsidiary of Mercy Corps, works to foster the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Egypt, facilitating deal flow and helping local investors and organizations better support high growth start-up and scale-up companies, especially in growing the ecosystem to new sectors such as agriculture and new geographies such as Upper Egypt. MC Egypt works to build the capacity of incubators, accelerators and VCs to provide the best support possible to high potential entrepreneurs all over Egypt.
